We are happy to be working with the Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) in Burlington as they move their web presence to a Drupal based system. The Center for Media and Democracy runs Chittenden Community TV, the Channel 17 public access television station, CyberSkills Vermont, and CCTV Productions.
Triangulus has been involved in an ongoing Drupal development project with CCTV to come up with a system for building TV schedules, generating airtime and production reports and much more. This work forms the basis of the Pegevent module.
CMD has a dynamic, highly skilled, hardworking staff and Executive Director, Lauren-Glenn Davitian. CMD is involved with state and federal grants and community projects and does a great job of giving people the training and tools they need to produce compelling media.
Triangulus set up a simple project management system recently for CMD so they can be better organized. They need to track personnel, resources, documents, schedules, etc. Organization, communication and clarity are crucial in their project management system to allow them to work well together and achieve deadlines and deliverables. After a demonstration of the system Lauren-Glenn Davitian commented, "It's like Heaven."
The simple project management system is based on standard Drupal modules, so it's flexible and extensible. Due to the open source nature of Drupal, their system can be maintained and modified by anyone with Drupal knowledge: no proprietary software was used, no licensing or seat fees need to be paid. This keeps CMD's costs down and their options open for the future.
Vermonters have a lot to say and a lot of great ideas to offer on a wide variety of topics: we're a small state with big ideas. We support the Center for Media and Democracy and their efforts to keep the internet open and to maintain Net Neutrality. In the 21st century Media and Democracy go hand in hand with Net Neutrality.
